It’s all about creativity at the upcoming MIPEL tradeshowTradition and artisanal craftmanship, finesse and innovation are the rich ingredients of the new MIPEL – TheBagShow. The tradeshow ()organised by Aimpes and sponsored by ASSOPELLETTIERI with funding from the ICE-Agency and Ministry of Economic Development, will be held from 16-19 September at the FieraMilano-Rho exhibition centre.
This time round, the 114th MIPEL event will be diverging from its usual course, becoming a novel and engaging immersive experience. A sensorial journey in which each visitor can experience the show in their own unique way, thanks to the new mood, thought-up by Creative Director Matteo Zara. In fact, Hall 10 will be transformed into an enormous ‘Memory Box’, an original exhibition with four different itineraries inspired by sight, hearing, taste and smell, providing an innovative vision of the accessory.
The tradeshow will bring together 300 international brands that will be presenting their new Spring/Summer 2019 collections to over 12.000 visitors from all over the world. The 114th event will also feature the special ‘Scenario’ exhibition space, which has more than doubled in size compared to the previous show, and ‘The Glamourous’, two areas dedicated to the launch of the most innovative proposals in the bag and accessories world, connecting emerging brands with top buyers. In collaboration with Camera Italiana Buyer Moda (Chamber of Italian Fashion Buyers), the latter area will be showcasing four of the most authoritative Italian buyers who have ‘adopted’ four young designers: Marcos has sponsored Emanuela Caruso, Luciana Bari presents Roberto Di Stefano, Lungolivigno Fashion has chosen Isla Fontaine and Dolci Trame has opted for Frenzlauer.
The special “MIPEL Tailor Made” project also slots into this search for innovation and is aimed at responding to the needs of the market, buyers and exhibitors, offering authentic ‘tailormade solutions’. The September tradeshow will also be presenting a new co-lab project between affirmed artisanal, leather goods companies and talented designers who have been invited to create original capsule collections. The four collections presented at the show are the result of a collaboration between Arcadia and Irma Cipolletta, Cromia and Michele Chiocciolini, Claudia Firenze and Annalisa Caricato, Tucano and Laurafed. The designs will be displayed in a special exhibit inside the ‘Scenario’ space and will also get important visibility in the city. In fact, from 17 to 25 September, the Excelsior Milano department store will be hosting the capsule collections in a special display, featuring installations and video art.
After its debut this spring, the overseas leather goods exhibit “Mipel Spazio” has also been reconfirmed. This time round it will be in Hall 12, which is directly connected to Hall 10 on the floor below, representing a meeting hub that has been thought-up to favour and promote commercial opportunities and partnerships between manufacturing companies in China and India and international brands interested in entering new markets undergoing intensive economic development.
