nastroelle-2Founded in Empoli in 1981 by Loris Del Sordo, Nastro Elle is specialised in the production of adhesives and double-sided adhesives for various sectors including the packaging, construction, and nautical industries: it was only at the start of the third millennium that it began using its expertise also for the fashion industry, developing a series of products exclusively dedicated to apparel, footwear, and last, but not least, high quality leather goods.
One of the first items aimed at these sectors, which is also a long-time bestseller, is Sticky, a bi-adhesive with extraordinary features: soft and resistant at the same time, its properties remain unchanged even when exposed to atmospheric agents, and it can mould itself to the curved lines of products: “These characteristics make it an ideal tool in the construction of bags, footwear, and apparel, as well as in the finished product, and it is also suitable for use as a supporting material during the various phases of production. – explains Loris Del Sordo, owner of Nastro Elle – There is no other product currently available on the market that is as mouldable as ours, with the ability to follow every curve of the product, while capably resisting atmospheric agents and UV rays without turning yellow or drying out and maintaining a clear level of stability over time. It is truly an extraordinary and versatile product. It can be used on the edges of bags, linings, belts, straps, wallets, uppers, and soles. It is also suitable for use in the pre-fixing of zippers for boots and ankle boots, and in items of apparel where strong binding is required”.
Next to Sticky, which represents the leading product of the Nastro Elle fashion industry range, the nastroelle-3Tuscan company presented a selection of items that created great interest among international designer labels at the last few editions of Prémière Vision in Paris and at Lineapelle in Milan. “It was a surprise – explains Loris Del Sordo – fairs with such a strong fashion-oriented content like Prémière Vision and Lineapelle, in any case did an excellent job of highlighting our proposal that is more technical in nature: the events’ publics showed great interest in our products and in the interesting applications for the fashion industry, including especially those for haute couture labels”.
Among the products protagonists at the fair were TNT/Polyester bi-adhesives that do not turn yellow, and which are resistant to mold, moisture, and high temperatures for the footwear and leathers goods industry. Customisable bi-adhesives with microcapsule-printed logo that does not dirty the needle while stitching. Silicon mono-adhesives for difficult bondings. Cotton and nylon stiffing bi-adhesives for leather goods and footwear. Protective transparent and coloured films for the protection of metallic objects like buckles and belts. Transparent strass-films for rhinestone applications on clothing and leather goods. High performance liquid and sealing adhesives for use in industrial applications…
All these products are founded on the dual principle of high quality-exceptional performance, which has always characterised the Nastro Elle selection. These two essential features are further supported by the brand’s dedication to the theme of sustainability, which has ended up characterising the company’s productive cycles, thus aligning it with the market’s increasing attentiveness to this theme.
