Sensory inspiration for MIPELThe 113th MIPEL-TheBagShow, the most important international event dedicated to leather goods and fashion accessories returns to the Fiera Milano Rho
From 11 to 14 February 2018, more than 300 top brands in the sector and the best research companies will present their new autumn-winter 2018-19 collections and will meet over 10,000 visitors, the best buyers from all over the world and the international press.
MIPEL dedicates the next edition to the senses: “Look, listen, touch”. This is the theme that will guide the exhibition as well as the new advertising campaign of the event. The creative director, Matteo Zara, inspired by the outer tubular architecture of the Pompidou Centre as well as the visionary works of artist Yayoi Kusama, has designed three perceptual pathways dedicated to vision, hearing and touch, “So that you hear with your eyes, you see with your mouth, and you taste with your hands”. The intention was to engage visitors in a sensory experience, inviting them to not only look, but to live the spaces in a unique way, stimulating feelings and emotions.
The concept of the new edition is also reflected in the press campaign, featuring black and white photos by Paolo di Giovanni with the creative direction of Matteo Zara. The protagonists of the photos are the bodies of a man and woman intertwined in sensual compositions that clearly recall the acts of watching, listening and touching.
Following the success of previous editions, the two areas, THE GLAMOUROUS and SCENARIO will be renewed.
THE GLAMOUROUS, a project sponsored by the Italian Chamber of Fashion Buyers, represents an innovative link between top Italian buyers and emerging designers. The next edition will also see four Italian buyers of excellence “adopt” four trendy designers, giving visibility to their collections both in the dedicated space of the fair, and in the windows of their stores. For this edition, the buyers participating in the project are: Cose that presents Giorgia Baiocco, Eleonora Bonucci who supports le Maissa, Gigi Tropea who believes in the potential of Micoli and Stilmoda whose scouting focuses on Alila.
SCENARIO is the more alternative stage of the fair, with a focus on new brands and research companies in the world of accessories. SCENARIO has consolidated its collaboration with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion to promote the meeting between Italian creativity and foreign markets with the involvement of four international buyers called to sponsor the most interesting new Italian designers. The protagonists of the February edition are Parigot of Tokyo which presents Eden Diodati, Concento of Osaka which supports Silvia Massacesi, Hyundai Department Store of Seoul which exhibits The Dots, and Wizwid which proposes Woobag.
MIPEL IN CITTA’ has also been confirmed for the next edition, a project sponsored by the City of Milan that “opens” the doors of MIPEL to the public with cultural initiatives. February’s edition is going to be a very special appointment full of contents for MIPEL, an event that with the support of ICE-Agenzia and the Ministry of Economic Development confirms its strong commitment to innovation, research and internationalisation.
