The evolution of MIPELThe Milanese tradeshow, Mipel, will be renewing its appointments for the 111th TheBagShow event, which will be held on 12-15 February at the Fiera Milano-Rho exhibition centre, and ‘MIPEL in città’, on the 13th and 14th of February, with the ‘Inside Out. The social life of bags’ exhibition at Palazzo Morando
TheBagShow, an event dedicated to the excellence of international and ‘Made in Italy’ leather goods, reconfirms itself as a reference point in the sector, with its 10.000 square metres of exhibition space in Rho, where over 300 companies, including famous brands, emerging labels and trend-setters, will be presenting their latest novelties for the Autumn/Winter2017-18 season.
THE GLAMOUROUS (sponsored by Camera Italiana Buyer Moda-The Best Shops), an innovative meeting place for top Italian buyers and emerging designers, has been updated and will become a special showcase for L’Inde Le Palais from Bologna, Bernardelli from Mantua, O’ from Parma and Tessabit from Como.
SCENARIO, the more alternative showcase of the tradeshow, dedicated to new brands and research companies on the accessories panorama, has consolidated its collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion) to promote a meeting point for Italian creatives and the overseas markets. Four international buyers, the Korean companies Ilmo, Galleria and Louis Club and the American company Jarbo, have respectively ‘sponsored’ four Italian designers: Paola Fornasari, Monteneri, Delicatezzen and Silvia Giovanardi.
The spotlight will be on the latest novelties in the TREND AREA, a space dedicated to designer inspiration, where buyers and press will find a selection of the best proposals from the exhibiting companies. This year will also see the return of THE ICONS award, where the products of four finalists in the Small Leather Goods, Travel Luggage, Nomadic Dreamer and Digital Urbanity categories will be judged by a jury of international buyers.
Furthermore, AIMPES has renewed its sponsorship of ITALIAN ARTISAN, the online, 100% Italian, B2B platform, which puts the best specialist artisans from the footwear, accessories and clothing industry in contact with emerging designers and international retailers.
Meanwhile, on the 13th February, at Palazzo Morando (Via Sant’Andrea 6, Milan), ‘MIPEL in città’ will be inaugurating the ‘Inside Out. The social life of bags’ show, promoted by AIMPES. An exhibition which tells the tale of the artisanal workmanship and design of Italian bags and their function in the evolution of female roles, from the Sixties to the present day. The exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, on the 14th of February, the day after the official opening.
