dae1Assopellettieri and Mipel look to the markets of tomorrow, focusing on one of the most innovative economies in the world, Korea. After the successes of the previous editions (October 2016, March and October 2017, March 2018), the “MIPEL Leather goods Showroom” exhibition, which presented the SS 2019 collections, was held in Seoul at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Gangnam. The showroom event has become even bigger: the 29 leather goods companies were joined by a group of companies belonging to the AIP - Associazione Italiana Pellicceria, thus expanding the panorama of Italian fashion products and showcasing the attention to detail typical of Italian ‘know-how’. The 450 buyers and journalists were very interested in the discussion panel on “Technology and leather goods application” and the presentation of the fashion trends for Fall/Winter 2019-20. The showcase-event was also a platform to present for the first time in Korea, the special co-lab project – already presented at MIPEL and exhibited at the Excelsior Milano during MFW of September 2018 – between well-established leather goods companies and talented designers, who were invited to create new capsule collections. These collaborations are testimony of a different and unique way of bringing together creative inspiration and craftsmanship, tradition and modernity, innovation and functionality. No less important was the leather goods presentation within the special “TREND AREA, in which the leading products of some brands show the “beautiful and well-made” design of Italian leather goods. The “POP UP STORE” project was also a success: on 18th and 19th October 2018, in the Hyundai Coex Department store, a selection of Italian leather goods companies presented their products directly to the public before moving to the Hyunday Pangyo on 25 October. “Our Korean event meets the specific need of Assopellettieri members. The association is a bridge between the company and the need for internationalisation. Thanks also to the support of the Ice-Agenzia, we are the Italy that works,” underlined Riccardo Braccialini, President of Assopellettieri and Mipel.
