In the origins of the brand can be found the immense legacy of the city of Venice: its history, tradition, and the richness of its manufacturing art. Conceived from the combined creativity of Gabriella Billo and founders Mattia and Renzo Garavello, Bruga Venezia is a tribute to the lagoon city starting from its name, which is an acronym of five women who lived between 1600 and 1700 in Venice with very closely ties to the city: the soprano Brigida Banti, the painter Rosalba Carriera, the legendary princess Ursula, the poet Gaspara Stampa and the painter of Swiss origins Angelica Kauffmann. To them, Bruga Venezia has dedicated five iconic bag models, with each one recalling Venetian artisanal tradition: for “Rosalba”, we have the Murano glass handle that evokes the white-blue or white-red motifs of the “dolphins” used for berthing vessels; while for “Ursula” we find the “commas” that recall the shape of Venetian gondolas and around 2,000 handmade appliqués between beads, river pearls and more or less precious stones. All the elements enriching these accessories are crafted and made by hand by bona fide Venetian master artisans, and are matched with the highest quality materials like crocodile and python, silk soutache, and crochet hook, filet lace, or Viennese straw inserts. Plus, every bag has a silver label inspired by the iconic Venetian mask, which is completely customisable.
