The fair dedicated to volume bags and accessories celebrated its third edition and moved from the Palavela structure to the new Pavilion D in the Riva del Garda trade fair district, in perfect continuity and in complete integration with the Footwear Exhibition offering: a spacious area full of light and over 4 thousand square metres of exhibition space, with open-concept and welcoming stands, which served as the perfect backdrop to the presentation of the new collections for spring-summer 2020. The experience acquired by Expo Riva Schuh in the fashion world and with volume products led to the selection of 83 firms of bags and accessories coming from the most important manufacturing districts in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, India and China.
“We are satisfied with the progress made by Gardabags, an event that wants to grow and give more and more space to a production of bags and accessories in quality leather. 35% of the professionals registered at Expo Riva Schuh indicated their interest in visiting Gardabags, a figure that is significantly higher than in previous editions. – confirmed Carla Costa, head of the Riva del Garda Fierecongressi Trade Fair Area –. We have chosen to particularly enhance the image of the new space, which is the result of an important real estate operation and an interesting project for the redevelopment of an old industrial complex. In the relaxation and networking area of Hangar D, we welcomed a moment dedicated to fashion trends with the style coach Carla Gozzi, who was inspired by the style and quality of our stands. Our goal is to carry on working to make the event a laboratory of creativity and inspiration for professionals and operators in the sector”.
The Special Guest of Gardabags, TV icon Carla Gozzi, was in fact the protagonist of the Talk Show conducted by journalist Cinzia Malvini entitled “Bags Fashion Trends”, which showcased the up-and-coming bag and accessory trends for SS 2020. Carla Gozzi said she was particularly impressed with the great variety of models, shapes, and colours presented at the fair. The bag, she recalled, must always be in proportion to the height and physique of the wearer for achieving perfect harmony, but it is also an expression of the wearer’s personality. “This is the reason it is so difficult to ask a woman to separate herself from her bag!”.
The style expert also underlined how today in urban contexts and in everyday life, matching looks are no longer essential like they were in the past but remain a ‘must’ when it comes to more elegant, formal, and special occasions.
At the fair, also the issue of sustainability was under the spotlight, a theme that affects the entire world of fashion and that is increasingly important and ‘heart-felt’ by new generations. At Gardabags, the protagonists included natural and poor materials like rattan and straw, and inserts like shells and stones, while different brands proposed low environmental impact models in their collections obtained from natural or recycled materials.
