The new collections of handbags and accessories return to the fair for the 120th edition of Mipel, which will be held in attendance from  September 19th to 21st in Hall 1 of Fiera Milano-Rho, with 2,500 square meters hosting about 80 brands.
The prestigious international event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Agenzia ICE (Italian Trade Agency) and under the patronage of the City of Milan, will be presented in a renewed and creative format, although smaller than past editions. The 120th edition, called Mipel Play, will focus on the world of sport, which has given us so much excitement in recent months, with a special layout that will reproduce an athletics track, tennis and basketball courts. The “Play” concept therefore aims to emphasise the need to restart, to resume a healthy international competition, just like in sports.
“Mipel continues to be a particularly valuable strategic moment for the sector: buyers and companies, especially small ones that have suffered most from the crisis, need to compare notes with each other, keep up to date on new developments and trends in the sector, draw inspiration, meet each other, as well as do business,” explains Franco Gabbrielli, Mipel president. “Organising the physical fair after a digital one therefore means giving an important signal to restart and a positive outlook to a sector that in recent months has shown itself to be alive and optimistic, despite the difficulties.”
Mipel will take place on the same dates, totally or partially, as the other main fashion fairs. In Florence, from September 11th to 13th 2021, the DaTE fair will take place, an event dedicated to cutting-edge eyewear. HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition, an event dedicated to fashion jewellery and accessories, will be held from September 18th to 20th 2021, and from September 19th to 21st , together with Mipel, there will be MICAM Milano, the international footwear fair, and THEONEMILANO Special featured by MICAM Milano, the women’s haute-à-porter exhibition.
The cycle of September fairs will conclude on September 22-24 with LINEAPELLE, the world’s leading business experience for leather, materials and accessories destined to the fashion, luxury and design industries, where the new MIPEL Lab exhibition dedicated to leather sourcing will make its debut. The exhibition was created to bring together brands from all over the world with leading Italian manufacturers.
The offer of services designed to support the participating brands is completed by the reconfirmation of “Mipel The Digital Show”, the virtual event that will air on September 9th 2021, anticipating the beginning of the physical fair, and that will integrate with it in order to guarantee maximum visibility to exhibitors towards international visitors who, for reasons related to the global health emergency, will not be able to participate. Thus, users will be able to place their orders, meet participating brands virtually, view the new SS 2022 collections and find out what’s new in the sector.
