The best Italian and international leather goods collections in one click. In pandemic times, the international event dedicated to leather goods has moved to the online platform, recreating the dynamics of the physical show with the multiple opportunities offered by the digital version. From 23 March, the brands presented their products and talked directly with buyers in the virtual stands implemented by the ZOOM videocall function offering an overview of the FW211/22 collections in the virtual showrooms, enriched by videos and images. Tools that have satisfied the business and networking needs of the fashion community, making them discover the many news of the season. The MIPEL Digital Days enriched the experience, during which on 23 and 24 March the journalist and writer Alan Friedmann talked about fashion and luxury, the value of made in Italy, sustainability, markets and future prospects for the sector, generational change and new ways of communicating with important guests on the international scene of the sector.
Within the platform, there was also the Buyers Lounge, where it was possible to discover the selection of companies according to criteria that reflect the research needs of international retailers: Women Entrepreneurs in Leather Goods, Slow Manufacturing, Travel Goods Technology, Craftsmanship Elevated Industry. And Italian Startup, a project dedicated to a selection of young Italian designers who have distinguished themselves for their creative ideas.
Despite the missing ability to touch&feel products, the event was still able to offer an immersive and exciting experience thanks to its rich content. It will stay online, available to its community, until mid-July, waiting for MIPEL120 which will bring back the physical show with a phygital version, from 19 to 21 September 2021.
